Description:
The last hole from the El Camaleón Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, which I would like to blog is hole 1. The hole is not really difficult – the fairway is very broad and forgiving. However, the golfer is confronted on the second shot with a massive cenote. A cenote is an underground limestone shell hovering atop a running stream and can only be found in Yucatan. During the construction of the course, this particular cenote was discovered and Greg Norman decided to preserve and integrate the cenote. This course feature is absolutely unique and cannot be found somewhere else! Unless the ball is caught by the cenote the hole is a fair opening par 5 with no particular difficulties.
