Description:
Is Molas is a high standard golf resort in Sardinia, Italy, which has hosted the Italian Open for four times. The course is a 27-hole traditional parkland design with very strong par 4’s. The 9th hole is a very interesting hole which requires good course management capabilities. Club selection for the tee shot is crucial because on the one hand a massive lake in the middle of the fairway has to be avoided approximately 200 meters from the white tees and on the other a too short tee shot leaves you with a long second shot to an elevated green. The fairway is narrow and the massive lake cannot be seen from the tee. The lake is massive and unless you can hit the driver for more than 300 meters it is not possible to get over lake. Ideally, the tee shot is placed right in front of the lake which leaves a 150+ meters shot to an elevated green. The green is interesting and very well protected with bunkers. Par is a very good score on this tricky par 4!
