Golf Travel Destinations: Myrtle Beach and Scottsdale
Tired of winter, snow, freezing rain and wind? No doubt about it, it's brutal to be a golfer and stuck inside during the winter months. Depending on where you live, the only way to play golf in decent weather is to travel.Watching the ladies of the LPGA currently playing in sunny, 100 degree California is making me wonder what I'm doing in Northern Virgina.

Even Tiger Woods had to travel recently to avoid weather. He practiced earlier in the week at Augusta in 40 degree weather with three inches of rain on the course. Then, due to too much rain in Orlando, he flew to Albany in the Bahamas to continue preparation for the Masters. Of course, it's easy when you have a private jet and a billion dollars to practice where you want.

If you are ready to get out of town, and play some golf in decent weather, Scottsdale and Myrtle Beach are two prime locations.

Scottsdale golf includes many top rated courses such as Troon North Golf Club's Monument, Boulders, Grayhawk, Whisper Rock, and Pinnacle. The weather in Scottsdale is currently ranging from the mid 80s to mid 90s with nothing but sun. Course architects in the area include Nicklaus, Faldo, Fazio, and Weiskopf. Arizona golf provides a variety of championship courses that can be played at foothills of the mountains, as well as in the arid deserts.

Myrtle Beach is a tourist haven for golfers with hundreds of courses ready to be played. A few notable courses include Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Burning Ridge Golf Course, and Whispering Pines Golf Course. Golf course architects of Myrtle Beach golf include Norman, Dye, Fazio, and Love. It's time to book your Myrtle Beach tee times, grab your clubs, and start preparing for Augusta, or just try to break 100.
