Geoff Ogilvy defends his title at the SBS Championship and wins the season opener for the second consecutive year. With the win, he takes home 1.12 million dollars, 500 Fed Ex Cup points, and gets to return to Kapalua again next year, as the tournament features only the previous year winners.
Tiger Notes:
Butch Harmon predicts Tiger will return in March to play one or two tournaments before the Masters. He thinks Tiger is going to get heckled pretty badly when he returns.
Jack Nicklaus says 2010 could be huge for Tiger in terms of breaking his majors record. With the majors at Augusta, Pebble Beach, and St. Andrews, where Tiger has won seven of his majors, Tiger could make up some ground on the record.
Africa Open:
Charl Schwartzel wins the Africa Open at East London Golf Club in South Africa. He finished at 20 under and won by one stroke over Thomas Aiken.
