Apology Day

Apology Day

I thought Tiger's apology was sincere and it certainly takes guts to stand in front of the camera and say what he said with 200 million people watching.

It was obvious he had help with the speech and was coached on when to look directly into the camera and take various pauses in between sentences for dramatic effect. All in all though, for the enormity of the moment, he did a very good job in expressing his feelings on all parts of the situation.

For those people who wanted Tiger to get up there and cry into the camera, you just aren't familiar enough with Woods. Throughout his entire career, he only cried after he won the British Open for his first major win after his father passed away.

In summary:
  • He apologized to everyone including his wife, children, mother, friends, family, business partners, PGA, players, sponsors, his foundation, children, and the parent's of children who look up to him.
  • He took the full blame and responsibility for what has transpired.
  • He admitted he had a problem, has sought help, and will continue to do so.
  • He said that rumors of his wife hurting him physically were untrue.
  • He said the stories claiming he took performance enhancing drugs were false.
  • He asked the media to leave his family alone.
  • He hoped Accenture and the players understood why he needed to make this statement on Friday.
  • He did not rule out returning to golf this year.
